So often I am asked by parents, “This just comes off with soap and water, right?” Well, yes it does. But, usually I follow up with, “Yes, but it needs to be a mild children’s soap.” Using adult make-up removers and facial wash can be quite harsh on a child’s skin and cause adverse reactions. So here’s what I recommend:
Take a pea size amount of a mild baby/children’s soap (do not add water) and gently apply to area that has been painted. Then take a dark (to avoid potential staining), damp, warm rag to gently wipe away the make-up. This should easily remove everything. If there is a bit of color left over, wait about 10 minutes and repeat.
I really like this method and use it for my little one. Since I don’t add water except to the cloth for removal, I can better control and avoid getting into eye area.
